On May 15th, Cenosco hosted an inspiring and knowledge-packed Summit at the beautiful Nutshuis in The Hague, Netherlands. With a strong focus on asset integrity and reliability, the event brought together experts and practitioners from across industries to share insights, innovations, and real-world strategies.
We kicked off with a powerful keynote by Marko Verdes on “Getting the Basics Right: Building a Strong Integrity Culture,” followed by a compelling session on Lean principles in inspection departments by Romain Vidal.
Josselin Coupier shared how to approach Asset life extension the right way, and after some much-needed networking and refreshments, Marcel Thijert addressed the challenge of Ensuring integrity in a changing world.
The morning concluded with Martin van de Heuvel and Fired Gabriëls discussing how toMature risk-based inspection strategies effectively.
The afternoon sessions kept the momentum going with Justin Naik’s thought-provoking talk on the science (and slight madness) behind smarter asset integrity and reliability. Henk Kouwer delivered our second keynote, highlighting how digital twins transform data into actionable insight for enhanced integrity.
Martin de Jong took us on a journey through data-driven integrity over time. Jeroen Juurlink presented a practical business case on scaling from proof of concept to full implementation. After a short break, Christos Christoglou explored aging asset challenges through a risk-based lens, and Fabrice Rey wrapped up the talks with a holistic view beyond reliability through a multidimensional lifecycle approach.
We closed the day with an engaging panel discussion featuring our speakers, exchanging ideas on the future of reliability and integrity management. A big thank you to all participants—it was a day of energy, expertise, and connection.

Christos holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Materials Science, with research in automotive and aerospace. He led Bayer’s RBI team (2012–2015) and built Covestro’s Inspection Management Team. Now EMEA Asset & Maintenance Excellence Manager at Ineos Styrolution, he also represents the company in industry groups, including as Deputy Chairman of the DIN “Maintenance” Committee and CEN member (EN 16991 – RBI).
Fabrice Rey
Business Developer – Digital Asset Performance
Following Fabrice’s initial training as a process and chemical engineer in Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques in Nancy in 2000, he specialized in process dynamic simulation applied to the energy industry for 20 years. Fabrice initially joined Technip Energies as lead of process dynamic simulation activities to develop Technip Energies’ internal capabilities as part of the Expertise and Modelling department and has been leading Digital Business Development since 2023.
Martin de Jong

Martin has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of roles and project assignments. At Cataly Partners and former employers he has been working as Specialist, Consultant and Manager both content and context wise in multiple (international) projects. Working knowledge/expertise: Regulatory Compliance, Condition Assessments, RBI, Remnant Life Assessments, Corrosion Monitoring & Management and studies such as RCA, Benchmarking, Data-Analytics and Condition Based Maintenance.
Hans Kouwer

Hans Kouwer is Industry Consulting Director for the Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division in the Europe, Middle-East, India, and Africa region, based out of the Netherlands. He has over 30 years of experience in the process industry, and has joined Hexagon 17 years ago after many years of industrial experience. Hans has extensive experiences with advising business organizations how their day-to-day business processes can benefit from effective information management and digital transformation.
Martin van den Heuvel
Principal Asset Management Consultant
Martin holds an MSc in Maintenance Management from Glasgow Caledonian University and has over 40 years of experience in inspection and maintenance. He is the developer of the Minimum Intervention Strategy for Inspection. Martin is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and the founder of MISI-Consultancy.
Fred Gabriëls
Managing Director
Fred Gabriëls has over 22 years of experience in advanced non-destructive testing. He has held commercial and technical management roles at leading NDT companies and currently serves as Managing Director at SonoInspec, driving innovation and strategic growth.
Romain Vidal
Deputy Head of Inspection
Romain holds Master of Engineering in Materials and Non-Destructive Testing. He is certified as an International Welding Engineer (IWE), an API as well as a French certified Inspector. With a strong foundation in materials science and non-destructive testing (NDT), Romain has built a career leading multidisciplinary teams in asset integrity management, quality assurance, and inspection. His technical expertise spans RBI, corrosion analysis, fitness-for-service assessments, repair strategies and inspection system optimization.
Marcel Thijert
Board Member Integrated Inspection Association U.A. (IIA)
Marcel has more than 30 years of experience as a manager in the field of Engineering, Production and Inspections. He worked mainly in the Chemical and Petrochemical Industry in The Netherlands and in the United States. The last five years Marcel is dominantly active in Integrity and Inspection, leading large groups of Experts in the fast changing environment of the Process Industry.
Justin Naik
